Kerala style Chicken thoran with coconut




Ingredients

Chicken - 1 kg
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Green chilli paste -2 tsp
Shallots -1 cup ( finely sliced)
Coconut Oil -2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Chicken masala powder -1 tsp
Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Grated coconut -3/4 cup
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves-1 sprig
Dried chilli -2 nos
Water
Salt

How to make
Wash chicken thoroughly 4 to 5 times.In a pan/cooker , add the cleaned chicken pieces , turmeric powder, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste, salt and 1/4 cup water
Pressure cook for 3 whistle or till the chicken is soft and water dries up
In a mixie jar add the grated coconut, fennel seeds and pepper powder.Just crush it , don't grind
To make thoran , heat oil in a wide pan .Once oil gets heated up add the curry leaves , dried chilli and sliced shallots .Saute till the shallots turn light golden 
Shred the cooked chicken and add it to the shallots and toss on high flame 
Add coconut mix , garam masala powder and chicken masala powder 
Stir fry on low flame for 5 minutes till everything turns dry and aromatic .Check for salt and pepper .Switch it off


 Notes
Use chicken with small bones for better taste .If you are giving for kids use boneless chicken
