Long beans thoran /achinga payar thoran kerala style

Achinga payar thoran is a simple kerala style thoran made with long beans, coconut and very mild spices .Myself and my husband loves to have this thoran with chapathi.Its a fibre rich thoran with full of Kerala flavours Makes :3 to 4 Calories - 100kcal per serve (approx) Time : 20 min Ingredients Long beans/Achinga payar -250 g Grated coconut -1/2 cup Shallots -3 (sliced) Green chilli -1 Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp Dried red chilli -1 Jeera -1/4 tsp Garlic -1 clove Curry leaves -1 sprig Coconut oil -1 tbsp Salt to taste How to make Heat oil in a pan Add mustard seeds.When they start to splutter ,add the dried red chilli and curry leaves.Saute it Add the chopped long beans ( should be smaller than done for Achinga payar mezhukkupuratti).Stir well Sprinkle 1 tbsp of water , cover and cook on low heat for 10 min In a mixie jar add the grated coconut, shallots, garlic , jeera,green chilli , turmeric and a little salt.P...

Kerala style Chicken thoran with coconut

Ingredients Chicken - 1 kg Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp Green chilli paste -2 tsp Shallots -1 cup ( finely sliced) Coconut Oil -2 tbsp Turmeric powder - 2 tsp Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp Chilli powder- 1 tsp Chicken masala powder -1 tsp Pepper powder - 1 tsp Grated coconut -3/4 cup Fennel seeds - 1 tsp Curry leaves-1 sprig Dried chilli -2 nos Water Salt How to make Wash chicken thoroughly 4 to 5 times.In a pan/cooker , add the cleaned chicken pieces , turmeric powder, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste, salt and 1/4 cup water Pressure cook for 3 whistle or till the chicken is soft and water dries up In a mixie jar add the grated coconut, fennel seeds and pepper powder.Just crush it , don't grind To make thoran , heat oil in a wide pan .Once oil gets heated up add the curry leaves , dried chilli and sliced shallots .Saute till the shallots turn light golden Shred the cooked chicken and add it to the shallots and toss on high flame ...

Coconut cookies (Eggless)

Ingredients Maida/ all purpose flour- 1 cup Butter - 50 gm Sugar - 1/2 cup (unpowdered) Vanilla extract - 1 tsp Salt - a pinch Baking powder - 1/2 tsp Milk - 4 to 5 tbsp Dessicated coconut - 3/4 cup + 2 tbsp How to make Powder the sugar and set aside Dry mix the maida , salt and baking powder . Sieve it . Keep aside In a bowl add the butter .Beat it or whisk it till it is fluffy .Add the powdered sugar.Add the vanilla essence . Now add the 3/4 cup of dessicated coconut and mix it with a spatula.A Add the maida mix and combine it gently with hands .Add about 4 to 5 tbsp of milk .Mix it well with hands (not necessary to make it to a smooth dough) Preheat the oven at 180 c for 10 min In a tray , keep a parchment paper.
