Dragon Chicken recipe/Homemade dragon chicken recipe


Dragon chicken is a popular indo chinese starter known for the juicy tender chicken with a sweet , tangy ,chilli taste .Its liked by most kids as its less spicy , Even my husband and kids love this starter , Here i have shared a simple dragon chicken recipe which can be made at home .Do try this recipe and let me know how it turned out for you


Ingredients
Chicken - 500 g ( boneless)
Ginger garlic paste -  1 tbsp
Egg -1
Black Pepper powder -1/2 tsp 
Kashmiri chilli powder- 1 tsp
Chilli flakes - 1/2 tsp
Corn flour - 3 tbsp 
Maida - 1 tsp
Salt -as needed 
Soya sauce -1 tsp
Water
Oil -2 tbsp ( any refined oil)
Garlic -1 tbsp /9finely chopped)
Ginger - 1tsp (finely chopped )
Red chilli flakes -2 tsp
Sweet chilli sauce - 2 tbsp
Tomato sauce - 1 1/2 tbsp
soy sauce - 1 tbsp
Sugar - 1 tsp
Cashew - 10 to 15 nos
Spring onion - 1 tbsp(finely chopped)
oil to fry the chicken


How to make
  1. The chicken must be cut in strips ( evenly ).
  2. In a bowl add Chicken ,Ginger garlic paste , egg ,Black Pepper powder , Kashmiri chilli powder, Chilli flakes ,Corn flour ,Maida ,Salt ,Soya sauce. Mix it well .Sprinkle little water for it to coat properly.
  3. Cover and rest it for 1to 2 hours
  4. After 2 hours of resting , heat a pan , pour required oil for frying the chicken.Fry the chicken till it is golden brown .Drain the excess oil and set aside
  5. Take a wok or a thick bottomed pan , heat 2 tbsp of oil
  6. Add the finely chopped garlic , ginger and saute it
  7. Now add the red chilli flakes , sweet chilli sauce , tomato sauce , soy sauce , sugar and a splash of water.Mix well and cook till the sauce thickens a bit
  8. Once it starts to thicken add the fried chicken and toss it well till the sauce is coated on the chicken
  9. Now add the fried cashews ,garnish with spring onions .Serve hot
